COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Alternative Arrangements for Meetings for Companies, Variable Capital Companies, Business Trusts, Unit Trusts and Debenture Holders) Order 2020

Certain provisions in written law and certain legal instruments (such as the company’s constitution) specifically require personal attendance at meetings. However, this may not be practicable in light of the social-distancing measures introduced to contain the COVID-19 spread.

On 13 April 2020, the Minister for Law introduced the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Alternative Arrangements for Meetings for Companies, Variable Capital Companies, Business Trusts, Unit Trusts and Debenture Holders) Order 2020 (the “Order”) which clarifies this issue.

Read our latest update on the Order for more information about what you need to know about alternative arrangements to be made for meetings during this COVID-19 pandemic.
