Lim Khoon graduated from the University College of Wales with a Bachelor of Law Degree, LL.B (Upper 2nd-Class Honours) in 1989 and was called to the Bar in England & Wales as a Barrister-at-Law (Grays Inn) in 1990.
He was then admitted to the Singapore Bar as an Advocate & Solicitor in 1992.
Over the years, Lim Khoon has developed a broad-based legal practice primarily in the areas of commercial dispute resolution, real estate law and corporate law.
In the area of commercial dispute resolution, Lim Khoon has advised and acted for clients in a wide range of commercial fields, including disputes between directors and shareholders of corporations, partnership disputes, debt recovery, disputes in the construction industry, landlord and tenant disputes, family disputes and medical negligence. Lim Khoon thus has experience in all levels of litigation in the Singapore Courts and before arbitration tribunals.
In the area of real estate law, Lim Khoon has advised and acted for corporations and individuals in the sale and purchase of both residential and commercial properties in Singapore. Additionally, Lim Khoon has also acted for and advised financial institutions as lenders and mortgagors in these property transactions. Lim Khoon also has extensive experience in the area of collective sale and has advised and acted for subsidiary proprietors in the collective sale of their commercial and residential projects.
In the area of corporate law, Lim Khoon’s focus is on the area of mergers and acquisitions and has acted for corporate and individual clients in the sale and acquisition of their shareholdings in corporations.
